The spreading coronavirus canceled several touring performances from musical artists, but those acts have found a new venue to sing: their living rooms. Acts stuck indoors are finding ways to promote new albums or make up for canceled and postponed shows.
John Legend, Bono, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Pink, John Mayer, Keith Urban and more have held virtual concerts from their homes as the world continues to practice social distancing to slow the spread of the virus. Rolling Stone Magazine will air a series by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys performing “In My Room” as well as other classic songs.
The Academy of Country Music had to postpone their upcoming awards show. It has been replaced with Country Music stars performing from their homes. Patrick Davis has written some of the biggest country songs on the radio. He has written a song entitled "I Sure Wish Corona Was Still Just a Beer!
All FOX stations will present the IHeart Living Room Concert for America hosted by Elton John to celebrate the resilience and strength of the nation during this pandemic. The event will feature performances by Alicia Keys,Backstreet Boys, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mariah Carey, Tim McGraw and more, from their own homes, filmed with their personal cell phones, cameras and audio equipment, to ensure the health and safety of all involved. The concert will air in the iHeartRadio Music Awards’ original broadcast timeslot. They will pay tribute to health professionals, first responders and local heroes. It will be commercial free across all of Fox’s linear and digital platforms.
This is our first real exciting, happy developments since we were closed down. We have the music industry to thank for this short term fix for the people. Stacking more of these good onto each other will help us get through!
