The Waiting Game | THE VIRAL Journal, Part 9

The Governor of Minnesota decided that we have to do more than the 15 day self-quarantine. He now wants schools closed, restaurants closed and for us to stay in side until April 10. That is another 15 days from now.  We have only one death in Minnesota from the Corona Virus. I worry about the businesses he wants to stay closed until May 1. However, we must do it.

For about a week our Congress and Senate have been bickering back and forth on a stimulus bill that will help the American workers, small businesses, and large businesses. They have finally figured out a $2 Trillion package to help.  

There will be small loans to businesses that say if they keep their payroll going the loan will be forgiven and their business can restart; in Minnesota that will be May 1. The airlines, cruise industry and cruise businesses can plan on getting help.  Our stock market is back up after hearing this good news.  

Before the Corona Virus we had an unemployment rate of 3.5%, it’s lowest level in 50 years. Wages grew by 3% in the last year. Our stock market was breaking all time records. Our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased 2.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2019. Disposable personal income (DPI) increased $101.4 billion (0.6 percent) and personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $29.6 billion (0.2 percent). All of this incredible economic growth will have to be rebuilt!

The Corona Virus may have battered our economy but the American spirit will crush the damage created by the American Spirit!
