The Rainbow Ahead | THE VIRAL Journal, Part 8
By Linda Coonan
6,000 mental health experts in New York have volunteered their time to provide online help for people having troubles with stress of self-quarantine and their daily lives.
Carnival Cruise line told Trump “We can match those big Navy Hospital ships with some fully staffed cruise ships” The cruise ships have all shut down, yet they open there doors for patients. Churches are holding on-line services and taking care of their members. NBA basketball players are writing checks to pay the arena staff where they used to play before this virus.
The cargo ships are being unloaded by Dock workers; truckers are getting supplies to the stores. Our grocery store workers are stocking our stores at night. Many stores are letting seniors shop first in the morning.
My nieces are helping out. One is collecting nitrile gloves, masks, sanitizers from people to deliver to hospitals and nursing homes. Another niece is working as a first responder in a nursing home. Another niece is a schoolteacher who creates online videos for her students that she sends to me to share with my Fairy Gardeners. A nephew owns a pizzeria and has stayed open for take out services.
Students who grew lettuce in Philadelphia donated it to food banks. To help children stave off boredom during their quarantines, people all over the world are placing stuffed animals in their windows so that kids can go on “bear hunts” in their neighborhoods. Other homeowners have been displaying rainbows to spread love and hope.
The US is testing it’s citizens; we are flattening the curve. The main aim of “flattening the curve” is to prevent a sharp peak of cases and spread out the infection over a longer period of time so that the healthcare system will not be overwhelmed. Let’s flatten out Covid-19 like a beautiful rainbow; blue, sunny skies are ahead.
Somewhere over the rainbow,
Fairy Queen Mum
