Make a List | THE VIRAL Journal, Part 30

By Josh Jennrich

As we head into another beautiful summer weekend, it’s once again clear to me that each and every one of us have so much to be grateful for! The fresh air we can consume, the food that satisfies our appetites, the gas that fills our tanks, the roof that keeps us safe, or the laughter that keeps us optimistic. Take a minute to look back at your week. I imagine if you’re human that you might of experienced some obstacles or speed bumps throughout your week. Was it car trouble? Did your boss take advantage of your kindness again? Did you get bad service at your favorite restaurant? Are your kids getting on your nerves?

Now I want you to take out a piece of paper or a note pad and write out all of the things you are grateful for in your life. Write down all of the things that you do have. Write out all of the fun things you get to do with your family and friends. Write down the things that made you laugh or smile this week. Write down the places you got to visit this week that made you happy. Write down the things that went good at work. Write down your favorite things about each of your family members. Write down your favorite jokes you heard this week.

This list can be endless if you want it to be. This list can be the difference between you choosing to have a great week, or choosing to have a bad one. I guarantee that if you do this exercise, your list of great, happy, or positive things is massive when compared to the few obstacles you were faced with that week. If you practice this exercise with intention, gratitude and consistency, each day, each week, each month, and each year will be better than the last!

For Goodness’ Sake,

Josh
